Responsibilities:
- Rack setup, layout, leveling and power strip setup.
- Installation and maintenance of the structured cabling system.
- Knowledgeable in Switch racking and Installing whips
- Extending customer circuits including POTS, T1, T3, Ethernet, and Fiber.
- Terminating fiber optic cabling.
- Maintain accurate records and document all problems.
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems.
- Physical destruction of storage devices ensuring data is non-recoverable
- Logical tracking and daily intercampus secure transport of storage media
- Safe and secure transport of storage media within client site as well as intercampus transport
- Troubleshoot issues that may arise during drive wiping
- Troubleshoot and problem solve for physical and logical discrepancies
- Reconcile all wiped/destroyed media across internal records
- Use of proprietary data sanitization software
- Utilize various inventory systems, determining which devices are destroyed or sanitized
- Coordinate pickup of sanitized and destroyed devices
- Prioritize tracking and reconciling part movement/destruction through task system.
- Sync with global teams on various tasks and upcoming innovations
- Meet SLAs/Deadlines on data eradication and/or destruction
- Assist with additional data center side projects as appropriate
- Provide updates and feedback via daily reports and weekly meetings
- Travel to other regions supporting project scale up
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of Eradication Room and tech work space
- Understanding of network cabling standards
- Experience interfacing with hardware vendors
- Physical inspection of main/intermediate fiber optic distribution frames and lit gear
- Verify, measure and record light readings on active fiber circuits
- Identify discrepancies between inventory systems and physical configurations
- Trace fiber and copper connections on active circuits
- Physical inspection of electrical distribution systems within equipment racks
Coordinate entry, exit, and alarm resolution with client NOC.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required ; IT Certifications (A+, Network+) preferred
- Minimum 4+ year of technical support experience
- Previous experience with inventory management system(s)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and work effectively with others & Ability to quickly shift priorities based on client needs
- Excellent fit with ARM culture and values with a keen eye for attention to detail and positive attitude
- Extraordinary care when touching client live fiber networks
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in high density data centers or carrier-neutral colocation environments
- Understanding of safety requirements for working with fiber optic cables and electrical distribution systems in a data center environment
- Ability to work in a data center environment for 8-10 hours per day, including standing, bending, and reaching
- Active driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain within 6 weeks).
